Notes from Project Owner meeting, 10.11.2017

We started to introduce our selves to the PO. After that we had some questions prepared to the PO.

Here is what she answered:

About the documents in optima, how up to date is it?

Because the University version in the document is already 2 years old, is this intended?

- When we were writing this application app, someone else gave me technical details, but she is not working here anymore. You can work on a newer version, but work on the latest licensed version we have at TUAS.

Has any content be premade?

- The content has not been made so far. I would like you to plan the content of the game. Because we have different countries in this came, please start to find out which issues that are typical for each of these countries. (Communication, body language, business culture ... )

Will the game develop both the business culture and the Swedish language skills?

- Yes.

For whom is this game?

- For people in the Nordic countries, but also for expats who want to start business with someone from these countries, students all over the world with an interest in this game.

Should the whole game be in Swedish?

- The Swedish language skill and the business skills should come together in this game. In the other countries they are very interested in learning Swedish, so we have to create a frame work in this game, that puts all the countries together. Perhaps about a start-up business. And you can travel through all the other countries. A character meets different challenges with communication challenges. You can make small tasks, that only teach people Swedish. And when you do a task they can speak Swedish, with a subtitle of the current country.

- You should create a vision for a greater project, then shave your vision down to create one play-through/demo. A prototype for the greater game eventually. Represent the bigger game during capstone. The first part of this project is capstone, then it is Turku Game Lab. So if you have issues, just ask Turku Game Lab for help.

- The game won't be very complicated when it comes to graphics and coding, but keep it as simple as possible. And do not hesitate to ask for help.

The platform is web based?

- Yes, so check web player and Unity, to see if it works. The game needs to be played from a website. We have to decide if the game is playable on the mobile phone. It will be discussed.

- For the presentation we will need concept art of characters (with traditional clothing), a flowchart of the game etc. For the characters, take a look at different learning games and video games.

Would it be nice if the player can create an avatar?

- It is good for users, but it is pretty hard for an artist and programmers. So let's create only a boy and a girl, and let them choose which one they want to be.

Which countries do we represent in the game?

- For now only the partner countries of the project. It should be easy to add another country later.

- Iceland.

- Sweden.

- Finland.

- Latvia.

- Estonia.

- The people playing this game are not beginner Swedish speakers, so do not worry about them not understanding the basics. Maybe the player can choose the language of the subtitles.

- Also the game does not have to be only business, but it should also be about society, since they are connected. When you open a business, find five steps for opening a business. Assign each step to one of these countries for example. (With legal document, business terms, opening bank account, registering the country name etc.)

Will the game be singleplayer?

- Yes, it will be singleplayer game.
